CP&D department and its functionality
Current Role
- To enable the Afghan refugees community to gradually take over their share of responsibilities for the education of their children's, and to create a sense of self reliance and ownership among them towards the reconstruction of their homeland
Current Tasks
- Further strengthen the community participation through active involvement of the SMCs
- Establishing and Training of SMC's
- Build capacities of the SMCs
- Facilitate and promote local level planning and implementation of SMCs initiatives
- Introduce ‘low cost' (economic) alternatives and means for the educational activities
- “Participate” in school's monitoring
Current Functions
- Assist in further strengthening the quality of education (FE+NFE).
- Designing and implementing a sustainable Community Development Concept.....
- Educational awareness to increase the number of beneficries
- Community motivation to gradually take over the propotional responsibilities
- Community organization for smooth running of the educational activities and gradual acceptance of the responsibilities through effective use of resources
- Community mobilization for self reliance and sustanability
Current Responsibilities
- Prevent wastage and ensure economic use of means and resources
- Ensure close coordination and cooperation with NFE, FE, PM&E, Sub-centers and the camp community on issues such as:
- Infrastructure development and maintenance
- Raising school development fund
- Control and check drop out, absenteeism of students and teachers
- Improve school teaching / learning environment
- Organize sensitivity campaigns
Future Role
- Sensitise the community‘s role more effective for identification and proper utilization of resources in the educational sector
Future Tasks
- To continue with the current tasks and expand them to Local Host communities.
- More active involvement in education and social development initiatives.
