The program comprised of identification of the vulnerable agricultural communities in underprivileged rural districts of NWFP through a need assessment survey and subsequent distribution of livestock to the target population for sustained livelihoods. BEFARe linked the program with local animal husbandries and support units of the government. BEFARe assisted some 6500 poor agricultural families through this program and ensured close monitoring, supervision and reporting of the entire exercise for sustained change in lives.
