BEFARe holds seminar on advocacy for legal reforms and implementation of immigration law
EFARe and NARA organized a joint seminar on the subject of “Advocacy for Legal Reforms and implementation of Immigration laws” on 26th April 2010
Basic Education for Awareness Reforms and Empowerment/Basic Education for Afghan Refugees
at Regent Plaza Hotel Karachi. The speakers included Barrister Shahida Jameel (Chief Guest), Asst Director Nara Mr. Muhammad Ali Lodhi, Program officer BEFARe Mr. Aminullah Khan, Dr. Fateh Muhammad Burfat (Prof. Sociology Dept Karachi University), Advocate Noor Naz Agha (PAWLA chairperson) and Barrister Salahuddin (General Secretary Karachi Bar Association). Among the participants were lawyers, information and educational analysts and representative from different NGOs. The purpose of the seminar was to highlight the lacunas of illegal migration in Pakistan and the role of lawyers in curbing the menace of HS/HT via legal frame of order. It was arranged to gather eminent lawyers, organizations and media officials for increasing coordination and overcoming policy gaps
