Objectives:
To improve livelihood and local economies in refugee-affected and hosting areas by strengthening government technical training institutes to provide quality vocational skills training to both Afghan refugee and local communities.
To strengthen capacities of ten government technical training institutes in Peshawar and Malakand divisions and ensure that 240 Afghan and local hosting community youth have better access to and avail vocational skills and entrepreneurial training that improve their livelihood situations

Project description
BEFARe will implement the proposed project in Peshawar District and Malakand division. BEFARe is well aware of the demographic detail of camps in target districts along with number of schools for boys and girls besides enrollment of students, available BHUs and plans to implement the proposed action through a consultative and collaborative approach with all stakeholders. BEFARe intervenes through a two-pronged strategy focusing under Component-I on capacity building of government technical training institutes. The proposed initiative will complement and collaborate with the national programs implemented under NAVTEC.During Component-II, the project will focus on training youth from the refugee hosting communities in different employable skills that will enhance their employability leading to reduction in joblessness and enhancement of economic activity in the area besides income generation for the families of trainees ensuring their economic security. The intervention will also enable Afghan refugees to be employable and serve as productive citizens after their repatriation.
