Goal:

Empower the disadvantaged females. Identified women in Mardan district are capable of getting respectable employment through vocational skills training enabling them to be successful in life, have self esteem and their just share in society.

Objectives:

  • Women develop their skills by establishing Female Community Organizations thereby encouraging empowerment and promoting better living conditions.
  • Women receive vocational training and entrepreneurial skills for enhancing their capacity and earning levels
  • Males of the target localities recognize the role which a women can play in fostering the society
  • Women of the identified districts are made aware of their rights by providing legal and gender sensitization training.

Project description

The project aims at building capacities of the target females through social mobilization and organizing community groups(COs), training them in community management, leadership, enhanced skills and entrepreneurship training, awareness for economic development activities, and consequently facilitation to acquire a decent employment in the society. Hence providing them support for a sustainable livelihood.

The project provides training on vocational and entrepreneurial skills to 250 females through the establishment of Female Community Organizations in district Mardan. BEFARe is working to integrate Mosaic art as a skill in the program. BEFARe is working with SMEDA, PASDEC and Ahan in this program to integrate Mosaic art as a skill in the program. Developing market linkages for higher return is mandate of the program. BEFARe will link the program with Khushali Bank and NRSP for access to micro credit once the participants have developed their capacities. As the program matures BEFARe staff will work on value chain of marble mosaic and administer specific trainings to strengthen systems where needed.
