Project description

BEFARe in a consortium with International Medical Corps (IMC) and South Asia Partnership – Pakistan (SAP – PK) is carrying out a project on the provision of comprehensive primary healthcare services, psychosocial services, hygiene education and distribution of hygiene related NFIs to the flood affected population for an immediate response in selected 4 districts each of Punjab and Sindh.

The project has been funded by DFID-UK. BEFARe will collaborate with IMC in four identified districts of Sindh namely Shikarpur, Larkana, Jacobabad and Qambar Shahdadkot. The project will build the capacity of the government health facilities in terms of providing medicines, supplies, equipment and repair and maintenance. Mobile and static medical teams will work out of the government health facilities wherever feasible Government healthcare staff will also be trained so that they are better able to provide healthcare services to the affected communities. Hygiene related NFIs like Jerry Can and Hygiene Kits will also be distributed among the conflict affected IDPs.
