Goal:

Registration of Voters

Objectives:

    • To assist unregistered eligible voters directly to obtain Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) issued by NADRA (National Database and Registration Authority) and to fill out
    • the paperwork necessary to register to vote.
    • To motivate and inform registered voters so that they check and correct their names on the provisional voters' list.
    • To motivate and inform unregistered eligible voters so that they register to vote.

Project description

The program enhanced capacities of the communities and helped them get registered in voters list; correct their particulars in the current list. The program also ensured transparency by displaying the voters list at centers for verification. The project fostered buy in with key stakeholders and mobilized resources through meetings with Election Commission of Pakistan, NADRA Officials, District Nazim, District ECP, District Nazims, NADRA, Assistant Director Information, Producer Radio, Secretary Union Council and District Coordination Officer. Areas were identified and Rapid Appraisal for the selected 26 Union Councils was conducted. Meetings were held with the local communities for motivating and facilitating potential voters. The project also ensured mobility of NADRA mobile units to each UC. Eight registration camps were organized and a total of 7,546 people that included 3,061 women benefited from the registration camps.
