Objectives

  • Support the Strategy of Government of Pakistan for Afghan population by providing specific information on the communities;
  • Assist UNHCR in identifying the most urgent and evidence based protection and assistance needs and opportunities that will help tailoring the most appropriate response for the Afghan individuals and communities ensuring access to available rights and services;
  • Provide information to humanitarian and development actors in Pakistan to help with their project development for Afghan hosting communities;
  • Support strategy development for re-integration of Afghan population by the Government of Afghanistan

Target population

The target population consists of Afghans residing in Pakistan, irrespective of their personal registration status or the registration status of the household/family. From a survey- and programme perspective, a distinction can be made between Afghans living in refugee villages (camps), in urban areas and in rural areas.
